
YEJI LEE
Yeji graduated from UC Berkeley with a B.A. in Biochemistry and currently works as an research coordinator at UCSF, focusing on clinical research for patients with Interstitial Lung Disease. Passionate about mentorship and educational equity, Yeji joined CovEd in 2021 as a mentor and quickly took on multiple leadership roles, including Outreach Director, Handbooks Coordinator, Matching Director, and ultimately, Chief Operating Officer - External.
As COO-External, Yeji ensures that CovEd's operations are aligned with its mission. She collaborates closely with the CEO to shape high-level strategy and works alongside the COO-Internal to facilitate cross-team coordination. Her role also involves improving volunteer management processes, addressing volunteer feedback, and ensuring smooth organizational operations. Yeji dedicates herself to fostering a collaborative and productive environment, making sure that teams are aligned and any challenges are resolved efficiently.
Yeji hopes to continue uplifting underserved communities as a future physician, combining her passion for science, education, and community outreach. Outside of work, she enjoys playing the piano, learning new languages, and recently picked up biking — though she’s still perfecting her balance! When she’s not working or exploring new hobbies, you can find her discovering new cafes, walking with her dog on the beach, or planning her next travel adventure.
